Prysmian Group’s Lincoln Plant Recognized for Perfect Environmental Compliance, Earns Coveted Merit Award
Prysmian Group, the world leader in the energy and telecom cable industry, celebrates its Lincoln, Rhode Island plant for receiving the Environmental Merit Award for perfect environmental compliance in 2022.
The Lincoln, Rhode Island plant was recently recognized by the State of Rhode Island for achieving perfect environmental compliance for 2022, earning the coveted Environmental Merit Award. This is the 28th year the awards were presented by the Narragansett Bay Commission, a regulatory agency that imposes parameters for pollutants for wastewater discharge to significant industrial users. As a significant industrial user, the Lincoln plant discharges plant wastewater to the Narragansett Bay Commission’s Bucklin Point Wastewater Facility.
“We are proud that our site met all sampling parameters, monthly reporting requirements, as well as surprise inspections and annual audits to achieve this award,” said Carter Geaber, Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, Prysmian Group. “The significance of this award is profound as only 17 other companies in Rhode Island achieved perfect environmental compliance for 2022.”
The Narragansett Bay Commission and the State of Rhode Island formally acknowledged the Prysmian facility for its environmental efforts in late May 2023.
Formally General Cable, Prysmian Group’s Lincoln facility manufactures renewable energy cables and products for distribution across North America.
