Cables for Underground and Surface Mining

Type W cables are known for their durability and flexibility. These non-shielded, 2 kV portable power cables feature full-size ground conductors in configurations with more than two conductors, making them suitable for industrial and mining applications. Available in both flat and round designs, these cables are built to resist crushing and minimize kinking, ensuring reliability in environments that involve significant flexing and twisting.

The round construction, in particular, is ideal for use with mobile mining equipment because it is easy to handle, move, and relocate. Additionally, Type W cables can come equipped with tinned copper conductors, which enhance their flexibility and resistance to wire breakage—making them perfect for applications that require repetitive movement. For scenarios where the cable is not subjected to frequent movement, a cost-effective option with bare copper ground conductors is also available.

Type G and G-GC cables are non-shielded, 2 kV flexible portable power cables that feature ground wires for each conductor. The G-GC cables additionally include a “ground check” wire, which provides fail-safe ground monitoring to ensure maximum safety. Both cable types are available in flat constructions that resist crushing and minimize kinking, making them suitable for applications that involve extensive flexing and twisting. They also come in round constructions, which are ideal for mobile mining equipment due to their ease of handling, movement, and relocation.

These cables can be equipped with tinned copper conductors for enhanced flexibility and increased resistance to wire breakage, making them perfect for applications that require repetitive movement. Alternatively, they are also available with bare copper conductors, providing a more cost-effective option for situations where the cable does not experience repetitive movement.

The SHD-GC cables are shielded, heavy-duty portable power cables designed for use as trailing cables on AC mining equipment. They are available in voltage ratings ranging from 2 kV to 35 kV. These cables include a ground-check conductor for fail-safe monitoring, ensuring safety in environments where induced voltages in the grounding system may pose a hazard.

In addition, SHD-GC cables can be used for low- and medium-voltage AC circuits where shielding is either desired or required. They feature a reinforced, two-layer, extra-heavy-duty lead-cured Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) jacket and come with Tinned Copper/Textile Composite Braid Shielding for maximum flexibility and durability.

These cables are offered with tinned copper conductors for improved flexibility and greater resistance to wire breakage, especially in applications that involve repetitive movement. For situations where repetitive movement is not a concern, bare copper conductors are available as a cost-effective option.

Type MP-GC cables are shielded power cables that come in voltage ratings from 5 kV to 35 kV. These round, mining-grade power feeder cables are designed for durability and ease of handling, simplifying the installation process. The heavy-duty, single-layer jacket offers mechanical protection and enhanced resistance to abrasion, cuts, tears, and torsion, ensuring reliability in underground, aerial, duct, and direct burial applications.

Tunneling Cables

Type SHD-GC cables are heavy-duty, shielded portable power cables that come in voltage ratings from 2 kV to 25 kV. They are specifically designed for use as trailing cables on AC mining equipment, where a ground-check conductor is essential for fail-safe monitoring. These cables are not only versatile but also durable, providing a long-lasting solution for your power needs.

Our SHD-GC cables feature a reinforced, two-layer, extra-heavy-duty jacket made from lead-cured Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE). Additionally, they are equipped with Tinned Copper/Textile Composite Braid Shielding, which ensures maximum flexibility and durability.

Customers can choose between tinned copper conductors, which enhance flexibility and provide increased resistance to wire breakage in applications requiring repetitive movement, or bare copper conductors for a more cost-effective solution when the cable is not subject to constant movement.
