AIRGUARD® XP Fiber Optic Cable (US)

AIRGUARD® XP is a robust family of industrial optical fiber cables that offers exceptional mechanical protection, chemical resistance, and a user-friendly design. It complements Prysmian’s existing AIRGUARD® low-voltage and medium-voltage cable offerings. 

In harsh industrial environments, traditional fiber cables can be damaged by aggressive chemicals such as hydrocarbons, solvents, acids, and bases. However, AIRGUARD® XP is specifically designed to withstand these challenging conditions. In fact, the AIRGUARD® XP family surpasses the stringent UL 2556 standards for oil and gasoline resistance. 

Furthermore, AIRGUARD® XP provides impact and crush resistance comparable to that of interlocking armored cables. Unlike interlocking armor, which is made of metal and can be stiff, heavy, and requires grounding, the all-dielectric versions of AIRGUARD® XP avoid these disadvantages. This allows them to be installed alongside copper communication or power cables in trays or ladders, offering greater flexibility and ease of use.
