Prysmian Group makes $14M investment in optical cable organization
Durango, Mexico – Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cables and systems industry, will invest approximately $14M between 2016 and 2018 in its optical cable organization.
Steve Szymanski, vice president of the telecom business, North America, commented, “Between 2016 and 2018, approximately $14M will be invested into the optical cable organization in Lexington, S.C., and Durango, Mexico. This represents Prysmian’s largest investment in optical cable in North America in the last decade. As a result of our growth, we are currently recruiting for plant employees in Lexington and Durango, and that will likely continue into the foreseeable future.”
Prysmian Group’s optical cable plants include Lexington, S.C., Claremont, N.C., and Durango, Mexico. At the completion of 2018, the Durango, Mexico, plant will be the sixth largest fiber optical cabling plant in Central America.
