Responsible Sourcing & Supplier Practices

Ethical Purchasing

Our businesses rely on international supply chains that involve multiple tiers. We are dedicated to collaborating with our suppliers, partners, and peers to promote responsible and ethical behavior and uphold high standards throughout our supply chain. This commitment is essential for ensuring the safety of everyone involved in our operations and maintaining the integrity of our business practices.

At Prysmian, we are focused on developing a sustainable value chain. This commitment is reflected in our adoption of a Code of Business Conduct, which serves as the foundation for our responsible business practices. This code ensures that ethical, economic, environmental, and social standards are maintained throughout our value chain.

Prysmian is committed to proactively assessing our suppliers' adherence to the principles outlined in this policy through a structured process supported by audits. This proactive approach aims to prevent violations and, when necessary, take decisive action to address human rights issues, reinforcing our dedication to ethical practices.

At Prysmian, we take our Code of Business Conduct very seriously. If any violations of these principles occur, we reserve the right to reconsider our future commercial partnerships with the involved business partners. This reflects our unwavering commitment to ethical business practices.

Responsible Sourcing of Minerals

As a key player in the global electronics industry, we recognize the risks associated with "conflict minerals" and are actively working to address these issues. Conflict minerals refer to specific raw materials used in our products, and we are committed to responsible sourcing practices. Our commitment includes the following actions to promote a transparent and secure mineral trading environment:

  1. Identifying materials and semi-finished products that contain tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (often referred to as 3TG).
  2. Collecting information from all our recurring suppliers regarding the origin of the conflict minerals used in their processes, in line with international standards.
  3. Analyzing the data received and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Through these efforts, we aim to ensure responsible sourcing and contribute to a conflict-free mineral supply chain.

Child Labor

Prysmian is fully committed to eliminating child labor from its supply chain. We adhere strictly to the principles outlined in ILO Conventions Nos. 138 and 182, which classify hazardous work as any activity that may harm a child's physical, mental, or moral well-being. Such work is absolutely prohibited for individuals under the age of 18.

Prysmian is dedicated to providing young workers with decent working conditions and ensuring the safety and protection of children in all our business activities and facilities. We recognize our responsibility to actively support community and government initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting children's rights, reinforcing our commitment to ethical practices and building stakeholder trust.
