Prysmian Group Telecom Recognized on Broadband Communities Magazine’s FTTH Top 100 List
Every year, Broadband Communities Magazine recognizes the top-100 organizations that lead the way in building a fiber-connected world. For the seventh consecutive year, the publication featured Prysmian Group on the list, which represents the whole fiber-to-the-home ecosystem. Broadband Communities Magazine noted that when making the selections the editors considered how important the organizations are to advancing fiber broadband rather than how important broadband is to the organization.
Prysmian Group was recognized for supplying optical fiber for fiber access deployments. Innovations like FlexRibbon™ technology, which debuted last year, showed editors the game-changing potential of Prysmian Group. FlexRibbon technology was the first to offer the ability to be rolled up and packed together in small diameter sub-units, while still providing the advantages of mass fusion splicing.
In addition, the recent acquisition of General Cable strengthened Prysmian Group’s presence in North America with five telecom production sites throughout the U.S. Prysmian Group confirmed its support to the increasing demand of its customers for optical cable solutions with an ongoing investment of around $451 million from 2017 through 2020. A significant part of this investment is being implemented in U.S. facilities and includes the increase of capacity for FlexRibbon, the rollable ribbon cable designed and built in the U.S.
Prysmian Group brought industry leaders together earlier this year in New York City for the NExsT Forum, a high-quality discussion around 5G and related topics such as today’s key connectivity; optical fiber and infrastructure issues; what technology, business applications, policies, and regulations will need to be in place; product and technology innovation; digital divide and a many more. This discussion, in addition to the close client relationships, will allow Prysmian Group to stay at the forefront of the industry and develop valuable innovations that continue to drive fiber forward with the increasing digital demands of citizens around the world.
