DFS™ Cable with OptiStrain™ Module
Prysmian's DFS™ cables are versatile and can be utilized for a variety of Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing applications. They can be installed along pipelines, power lines, roadways, railroad tracks, and property boundaries. These cables provide capabilities for distributed temperature sensing (DTS), distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), and distributed strain sensing (DSS). Prysmian's OptiStrain™ modules are specifically designed for strain and acoustic sensing, while loose tube fibers are employed for temperature sensing.
By integrating multiple sensing functions for asset monitoring, the occurrence of false positives is significantly reduced, which enhances the overall performance and benefits of the sensing system. Additionally, extra loose tube optical fibers can be incorporated for telecommunications and data applications.
