Prysmian’s Ribbon Central Tube Unishaver provides quick and easy midspan access to legacy Draka ribbon central tubes. This specially designed tool securely holds the buffer tube in place, and a precision blade “shaves” only the tube wall, providing access to ribbon fibers without damaging the fiber or coating. The new kit includes the shell and a choice of inserts for various tube diameters. Inserts are color-coded and engraved to make it easy to select the right insert for the job. 

The UniShaver Tool is designed to open tubes with diameters of 6.3 mm (0.24 inches) and larger and is typically used with legacy Draka central tubes and ribbon in loose-tube ribbon cables. Select the correct tool size, open the palm-size holder, calibrate the blade depth, and go.
