Overview

Downhole extraction systems are essential for crude oil extraction. The performance and reliability of an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) system depend on a consistent electrical power supply. This supply includes components such as the power feed to the wellhead, power cable, motor lead cable, pigtail connectors, and other related equipment, all of which are crucial for the optimal functioning of the pump and motor. 

 

For over 30 years, Prysmian has been providing cabling solutions for ESP systems. Our products are designed to extend the operating life of artificial lift systems, even in the most challenging oil field environments, including wells with high workover costs, corrosive conditions, or elevated temperatures.

Prysmian ESP cables offer an efficient, durable, and easy-to-handle solution that delivers reliable performance in a straightforward package. These cables are designed to withstand high temperatures and harsh environments while resisting aggressive chemicals.

 

Prysmian ESP cables are available in two designs: 

  1. Round Design: Provides high flexibility and crush resistance.
  2. Flat Design: Ideal for situations where there is a tight fit between casing and tubing. 

 

Both designs utilize Prysmian’s proprietary insulating and jacketing compounds, ensuring superior performance and extended operating life even in the most challenging conditions. 

 

To facilitate installation and maintenance, Prysmian ESP cables are shipped on reels in a continuous, splice-free length.

Each solution is customized to meet specific application requirements through close collaboration among Prysmian, the ESP manufacturer, and the operator. This collaborative process combines several key elements:

    • Tubing Encapsulated Cables (TEC) for transmitting data or supplying power to a variety of downhole instrumentation, sensors, and electrically powered equipment.
