The E3X® Robot System, developed in collaboration with Infosys and strategically supported by Exelon, is set to transform the energy industry. This innovative system enhances energy transmission efficiency, safety, and sustainability by applying a heat-dissipating E3X® coating to existing power lines. As a result, it reduces grid congestion and unlocks 15-25% of capacity for utilities without the need to build new transmission lines.
E3X coating can be factory-applied to conductors for new lines or reconductoring existing lines. E3X-coated conductors require no changes to installation procedures, tools, or accessories.
For retrofitting, Prysmian offers a robotic system that cleans and coats existing conductors with E3X Technology. The cleaning robot mechanically prepares the conductor, followed by a coating robot that applies the E3X coating, which cures at ambient temperature. This robotic system can be deployed on energized lines.
