Mobile Mammography Unit Pays Visit to Prysmian Group North America Headquarters

Prysmian Group is proud to support the health and wellness goals of many of their employees and loved ones through various programs and initiatives that encourage selfcare. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the St. Elizabeth Mobile Mammography Unit visited Prysmian Group North America’s headquarters in Highland Heights, Kentucky on Tuesday, October 26 in efforts to offer this vital health screening for Prysmian Group employees and their family members. 

During the visit, St. Elizabeth Mobile Mammography Unit provided baseline screenings for employees ages 35 to 40 and annual screenings for those 40 and over.

According to the American Cancer Society, early detection through mammograms has been proven as most effective and shown to reduce breast cancer morbidity and mortality. Finding breast cancer early can reduce risk of mortality from the disease by 25-30% or more. Women should begin having mammograms at age 40, or earlier if they’re at high risk.

The St. Elizabeth Mobile Mammography Unit makes daily stops in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati community, visiting libraries, schools, businesses and more. The fully equipped van offers digital mammography screening and tomosynthesis (3D mammograms) in a private, comfortable setting.

Just like a mammogram at a hospital, St. Elizabeth Mobile Mammography Unit screenings typically take about 10 minutes and are read by a radiologist, with results being provided to the patient in just a few days.
