What is the MAKE IT Program?

Prysmian's MAKE IT manufacturing program is unique. You'll be highly visible from day one. Along with a competitive salary package customized to best suit your needs, you'll have the opportunity to partner and learn from a highly-skilled mentor. This mentorship will provide you with the guidance and support you need to shape the future from day one in a challenging role at one of our largest facilities. Over 4 years, you'll expand your knowledge and develop your skills as part of a comprehensive career program designed to immerse you in the business from day one.

Program Overview

As part of the Make It training program, you will spend a week in the Milan HQ for an introduction to Prysmian's strategy, markets, and culture. This will be followed by a week at our state-of-the-art Manufacturing Academy in Mudanya, Turkey.  In Turkey, you will be exposed to our products, technologies, and manufacturing processes in an in-plant experience. You will also have the opportunity to build a strong network with your new colleagues, fostering a sense of connection and team spirit in the manufacturing world of Prysmian.

Three months of local onboarding include on-the-job training in your role and a job rotation phase. This phase exposes you to different parts of the business and helps you better understand the local industry and key departments/people you will work with. During this phase, you will meet and work closely with an existing expert in the business and learn from their experience. This person will be your mentor, assist you in adapting to your new environment and help you reach your development goals. Our mentoring program is designed to support and encourage your learning, maximize your potential, develop your skills, improve your performance and help you become the person you want to be. It's an exciting opportunity for personal growth and they can support you throughout your career with Prysmian.

You will spend time honing your skills during your first four years of employment. You will undertake three sessions of Manufacturing Fundamentals training that will give you a dive deep into the main topics of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Processes and Machinery. This training will follow the Manufacturing Fundamentals training package provided by our academy. It will be facilitated by experts from within Prysmian, partnering universities, and consultants who are experts in their fields. You will undertake Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in the fourth year, including specific project requirements.

The 4 years of training will allow you to strengthen your skills and build a strong manufacturing community with your new colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to meet technical experts from Prysmian and outside, fostering a sense of connection and community. The module-based program will allow you to combine classroom theory with practical hands-on experience, and it will raise your group exposure and potentially lead to more advanced training opportunities, depending on your performance.

Your career growth is intricately linked to your P+ outcomes. Prysmian People Performance is our employee performance appraisal system.  P+ is a tool that motivates and engages employees and serves as a stepping stone for career development. It is obtained via appraisal and improving an individual’s performance.  This process requires the allocation of clear objectives agreed with management and providing constant feedback about the work performed and results obtained.  P+ aims to identify and further develop your career path and future job succession within the company.
