ResiLink™ Universal Service Drop Cable
Prysmian’s ResiLink™ Universal Service Drop (USD) is a durable, dual-purpose drop cable for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) applications. This gel-free cable is rated for outdoor use, and its inner subunit features a stand-alone 3mm simplex cable containing a single 900 μm tight-buffered bend-insensitive single-mode fiber.
A notable aspect of the simplex subunit is that it is UL-listed for indoor applications, enabling quick, easy field termination with the 900 μm tight-buffered fiber. The ResiLink USD has a self-supporting design, enabling it to span up to 310 feet in NESC Light areas or to be installed within a duct.
An optional 24 AWG tone wire is also available and can be easily separated from the cable.

FAQs
What is a ResiLink™ Universal Drop Cable?
ResiLink™ Universal Drop Cable is a flat drop fiber optic cable designed for indoor and outdoor use. It offers flexibility, durability, and simplified installation.
What makes this cable "universal"?
Its dual-purpose design allows it to function as an indoor-rated simplex subunit or an outdoor self-supporting drop cable, eliminating the need for transitional splices.
Where is this cable typically used?
It’s ideal for FTTH, PON, and broadband deployments that require compact, durable, and cost-effective drop solutions for aerial, duct, or direct burial installations.
What are the key benefits of the ResiLink™ Universal Service Drop Cable?
It provides fast installation, reduced labor costs, and long-term reliability with a gel-free, lightweight construction that simplifies termination and improves handling. The aramid yarns inside the 3mm simplex subunit can be crimped in mechanical field-installable connectors, providing a robust installation either at the terminal or the home/living unit. The simplex unit can also be fed into the home, bypassing an outdoor Network Interface Device if one is cannot be used.
