Steel Overhead Ground Wire and Stranded Steel Guy Wire (US)
Steel Overhead Ground Wire (ASTM A363)
Complete Conductor: Steel overhead ground wire conductors are constructed using a concentric lay-stranded design and are manufactured according to ASTM Specification A363.
Features and Benefits: The steel wires are protected from corrosion through galvanization. The standard Class A zinc coating is suitable for ordinary environments. According to ASTM A363, welds or splices are not permitted in any of the finished steel strand wire.
Applications: This type of wire is commonly used as overhead ground wire or static wire.
Options: Class A zinc with a 5% aluminum mischmetal alloy coating is available per ASTM A925.
Stranded Steel Guy Wire (ASTM A475)
Complete Conductor: Stranded steel guy wire features a concentric lay-stranded construction and is manufactured in accordance with ASTM Specification A475.
Features and Benefits: Similar to overhead ground wire, the steel wires are protected from corrosion by galvanization. The standard Class A zinc coating is adequate for typical environments.
Applications: Stranded steel guy wire is used for shield wire, messengers, span wires, and more.
Options: Class A zinc with a 5% aluminum mischmetal alloy coating is available per ASTM A855.
