SUPERTUF™ Ruggedized Cable
Secondary UD Power Cable features aluminum conductors and a dual-layer cross-linked polyethylene insulation system designed for optimal mechanical toughness and flexibility.
Conductors: Class B Compressed Unilay (1 AWG to 4/0 AWG) or Compressed Round aluminum alloy 1350 according to ASTM standards.
Phase Insulation: The cable features an extruded composite, two-layer SUPERTUF insulation. It consists of a clear inner layer made of linear low-density polyethylene and an outer layer of black, sunlight-resistant, high-density polyethylene. These two layers are firmly bonded and cross-linked.
Neutral Insulation: Similar to phase insulation, neutral insulation is composed of an extruded composite and a two-layer SUPERTUF material. It has a clear inner layer of linear low-density polyethylene and an outer layer of black, sunlight-resistant, high-density polyethylene, with extruded yellow stripes for easy neutral identification.
Assembly: For multiple cable assemblies, one-, two-, or three-phase conductors are twisted together with a neutral conductor.
Cable Markings: Sequential footage markings are provided on one phase conductor. Phase identification is printed on the surface in white ink: 1/C - “Phase A,” 1/C - “Phase B,” and 1/C - “Phase C,” as applicable.
