TransPowr® ACAR Bare Overhead Conductor (US)
Aluminum Conductor Alloy-Reinforced (ACAR) cable consists of 1350-H19 aluminum wires that are concentrically stranded around a 6201-T81 aluminum alloy core. While the 6201-T81 typically serves as the conductor core, there are specific designs where both the 1350-H19 and 6201-T81 wires may be stranded together in the same layer. ACAR conductors are manufactured according to the latest requirements of ASTM B524.
Features and Benefits
ACAR cable offers high current-carrying capacity and strength while maintaining a lower weight than traditional conductors. It is an excellent choice for applications where current-carrying capacity, heightened strength, and reduced weight are essential to the line design.
Applications
ACAR conductors are primarily used in overhead distribution and transmission lines that require all-aluminum conductors but need greater strength and longer spans than what All-Aluminum Conductors (AAC) can provide.
