ALL-TEMP(K) INDUSTRITE® Flat Neoprene Festooning Cable
The ALL-TEMP(K) Flat Neoprene Festooning Cable is specifically designed for use in festoon systems, providing electrical power and control to cranes, hoists, or any other equipment that moves laterally.
These flat cables are ideal for space-constrained environments, as they can be stacked, and are also suitable for applications requiring extreme flexing. The recommended bend radius for these cables is three to five times their diameter.
Additionally, ALL-TEMP(K) Flat cables are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 90°C.
Construction Options
ALL-TEMP(K) Flat cables are designed and manufactured in a variety of alternative constructions for specific applications.
Options include:
- Cold Temperature Thermoset Jacket Compound for -50 °C rating
- Coaxial
- Fiber Optic
- Twisted Shielded Pairs
- Composite Conductors
- Green/Yellow Stripe Neutral
Design Parameters
Conductors: The conductors are made from flexible stranding using soft-drawn tinned copper in accordance with ASTM B-33, B-172, and B-174. This material offers high flexibility and extended flex life, helping reduce copper fatigue and conductor breakage. Additionally, it is easy to solder and resists corrosion.
Separator: A separator tape is included to facilitate conductor stripping.
Insulation: The insulation is composed of black thermoset (EPDM) material, which offers excellent physical and electrical properties. It features a printed color code for easy conductor identification and is suitable for extreme flexing applications.
Cabling: The cable design includes flat parallel conductors and a rip cord, enhancing stability in outdoor conditions, particularly against crosswinds. This configuration ensures cable integrity, reduces conductor stress, increases flex life, and allows for easy jacket stripping.
Jacket: The jacket is available in stock in black, oil- and flame-resistant thermoset (neoprene). It is ready for immediate delivery and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use in rigorous flexing environments where exposure to oil, chemicals, and extreme temperatures is a concern.
