ALL-TEMP(K) INDUSTRITE® Control Cable
ALL-TEMP(K) INDUSTRITE® Control Cable is designed and manufactured for continuous flexing, twisting, and other demanding physical applications. It is built to withstand flame, abrasion, chemicals, moisture, impact, tearing, and extreme temperatures.
Common applications include portable controls, spring- and motor-driven reels, festoon systems, power tracks, cable tenders, cranes, and hoists. The ALL-TEMP(K) INDUSTRITE Control Cables are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, including installations in water, such as in aerator ponds.
Construction Options
ALL-TEMP(K) INDUSTRITE® cables are designed and manufactured in various constructions tailored for specific applications.
Options Include:
- Overall shields and armor
- Composite conductors
- Fiber optic components
- Cold temperature thermoset jacket compound rated for -50°C
- MSHA approval
- Green/yellow conductor
Note: To extend cable service life in all operating conditions, use basket-weave grips with a minimum length of 12 inches.
Design Parameters
Conductors: The conductors feature extra-flexible stranding (Class K) made from soft-drawn, tinned copper, complying with ASTM B-33, ASTM B-174, and UL-62. This design ensures high flexibility, extended flex life, reduced copper fatigue, and decreased risk of conductor breakage. Additionally, they offer easy solderability and corrosion resistance.
Separator: A separator tape is included to facilitate conductor stripping.
Insulation: The insulation is made of thermoset EPDM and meets UL-62 and ANSI/NEMA WC 70 ICEA S-95-658 standards. It offers excellent physical and electrical properties, with a black finish and white numbers printed for easy identification of conductors. This insulation is suitable for extreme flexing applications.
Cabling: The conductors are cabled together (with a maximum of two layers) using non-wicking, non-hygroscopic fillers. An overall binder made of rubberized fabric tape enhances mechanical strength and impact resistance, ensuring exceptional performance in severe flexing applications.
Jacket: The jacket is available in stock in black. It is oil- and flame-resistant, made from a reinforced thermoset material that complies with UL-62, ANSI/NEMA WC 70, and ICEA S-95-658. This jacket is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use in demanding flexing applications where exposure to oil, chemicals, and extreme temperatures is a concern.
