FAA-L-824 Type B Airport Lighting Power Cable
These are single-conductor, 5000-volt non-shielded power cables designed for underground installation. They are suitable for use in airport lighting circuits according to FAA L-824 Type B and are listed in FAA AC 150/5345-53 Appendix 3. These cables are rated for operation at 90°C in dry conditions.
FAA L-824 cables can be used in conduits, ducts, aerial installations, and direct burial applications, with a voltage rating of up to 5000 volts. The CPE jacket provides extra protection against de-icing fluids.
Design Parameters
Conductor: Class C, soft-drawn tinned copper stranded according to ASTM B3 & B8. Class B and bare copper options are also available.
Insulation: Ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) compound that meets the requirements of ICEA S-96-659/NEMA WC 71. The cable jacket can be provided in solid colors.
Jacket: Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) compound in compliance with ICEA S-96-659/NEMA WC 71.
