FAA-L-824 Type B Airport Lighting Power Cable
These are single-conductor, 5000-volt non-shielded power cables designed for underground installation as part of airport lighting circuits in accordance with FAA L-824 Type B guidelines, as detailed in FAA AC 150/5345-53 Appendix 3. They are rated for operation at temperatures up to 90°C.
FAA L-824 cables are suitable for installation in conduit, ducts, aerial applications, and direct burial, all up to 5000 volts. The PVC jacket provides added protection against de-icing fluids.
This range of airport lighting cables has been certified as compliant with the Buy American Act by the FAA.
Design Parameters
Conductor: Class B soft-drawn bare copper, stranded in accordance with ASTM B3 and B8. Options for Class C and tinned copper are also available.
Insulation: Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) compound, compliant with ICEA S-96-659 and NEMA WC71.
Jacket: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compound, compliant with ICEA S-96-659 and NEMA WC71.
