Prysmian's Type RHH/RHW-2/USE-2 cable is designed for a variety of commercial and industrial applications. These cables can be installed in both wet and dry locations, indoors or outdoors, and can be placed in raceways, underground ducts (ask about our preinstalled cable-in-conduit products), or used aerially or for direct burial. 

Our Type RHH/RHW-2/USE-2 cable complies with NEC regulations and is suitable for continuous operation at temperatures up to 90°C in both wet and dry environments, 130°C during emergency overload conditions, and 250°C for short-circuit situations.

 

Design Parameters

Conductors: The conductors are Class B, soft-drawn, bare copper, and conform to ASTM B3 and ASTM B8 standards. Options include tinned copper and extra-flexible conductors.

Insulation: The insulation is made from heat and moisture-resistant crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) and meets the requirements of ICEA S-95-658 (NEMA WC 70), as well as UL 44 for Type RHH and RHW-2 wires, and UL 854 for Type USE-2. This insulation is suitable for use in both wet and dry locations, with a maximum conductor temperature not exceeding 90°C for normal operation.

Assembly: Single-conductor cables can be paralleled or multiplexed to allow for more efficient installations. Additionally, these cables can be pre-installed in conduit.
