Prysmian Breaks Ground on $80M Expansion Project in Lexington, South Carolina

Prysmian, the leading provider of solutions for energy and digital connections, broke ground today on an $80 million expansion of its Lexington, South Carolina facility to increase manufacturing capacity for the company’s FlexRibbon® fiber optic cable and support growing U.S. demand for advanced connectivity solutions. 

Prysmian executives joined local officials and community leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction. The project is expected to create 130 new local jobs while expanding the company’s domestic optical cable manufacturing capabilities.

The project is part of Prysmian’s recently announced investments across North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee to expand domestic fiber and optical cable manufacturing capacity and create approximately 600 new U.S. manufacturing jobs.

Construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2028. Prysmian is also growing its workforce in Lexington and across the United States.
