Plastic Cord

OVERVIEW

Plastic Cord

CAROL® Plastic Cords can be used in a variety of commercial and industrial applications—both indoor and outdoor where resistance to oil, chemicals and abrasion is mandatory—for powering equipment such as appliances (washers, mixers and lamps); portable tools, lights and motors; hospital, sound and floor maintenance equipment; and even in thermostats and other control systems. However, these types of flexible portable power cords are not permitted to be run through walls, structural ceilings, suspended/dropped ceilings, floors or to be attached to building surfaces.

Our offering includes Types SJEOOW/SEOOW, Types SJTOW and STOW, Type SVT, Type SJT, Bus Drop Wire and Thermostat Wire to meet today’s commercial and industrial applications.

Thermoplastic cord products have evolved into a product line where specialized, technologically advanced products are required to meet today’s commercial and industrial applications. No longer are plastic cord products used only in applications where oil resistance is needed. Today, typical applications require a cord to perform well in environments of extreme heat and cold and on job sites and factory floors where resistance to oil, chemicals and abrasion is mandatory.

Prysmian Group’s role is to ensure that new product development, product innovation and quality keep pace with industry requirements and set the trends.

Our plastic cord products carry a full range of listings and certifications with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. and the Canadian Standard Association. In addition, many products meet or exceed the requirements of OSHA, MSHA and other relevant industry standards.
