864 and 1728f MassLink™ Indoor and Indoor/Outdoor Riser & LSZH CPR with FlexRibbon® Cable
MassLink™ with FlexRibbon® Technology offers an ultracompact design for indoor and outdoor cabling, featuring up to 1,728 bend-insensitive fibers. This technology allows for the ribbons to be rolled up and packed tightly within small-diameter tubes containing either 144 or 288 fibers. While FlexRibbon achieves high packing density, the 200μm fiber ribbons still retain the benefits of mass fusion splicing.

Features and Benefits
Ultra Compact Design
- FlexRibbons are organized into compact sub-units of 144 or 288 fibers for easier routing.
- These cables have a significantly smaller diameter and lighter weight, facilitating easier installation and the use of smaller ducts.
- Compared to traditional indoor/outdoor ribbon designs, these cables offer a 30% reduction in diameter and a 52% reduction in volume.
FlexRibbon Technology
- The extremely flexible ribbons can be rolled up for high packing densities or laid flat for ribbon splicing.
- FlexRibbons are compatible with mass fusion splicers, cleavers, and splice machines.
- They utilize standard 200 µm coated bend-insensitive fiber according to ITU G657.A1/A2.
Performance
- The cables incorporate full dry water-blocking technology in the tubes and core, allowing for easy preparation for closures and terminations.
- They are tested in accordance with ICEA 696 and relevant EIA/TIA-455 series FOTPs for fiber optic cables.
Tube Coil vs. Sleeved Coil Ribbon Storage
- Tube Coil Cables: Made with larger, more robust tubes, these cables can be stored in a ribbon format without kinking and can be coiled without the need for sleeves or furcation.
- Sleeved Coil Cables: Designed with smaller, condensed tubes for a more compact structure, these cables require sleeved or furcation tubing when coiled for storage to prevent kinking.
Flame Retardant Construction
- Riser designs are tested according to UL1666 and UL1685, and are listed as OFNR-FT4 and OFNG.
- LSZH CPR designs comply with UL1666 and UL1685, with listings as OFNR-ST1, OFNG, FT4-ST1.
