DFS™ Cable with OptiStrain™ Module
DFS™ cables are highly versatile and suitable for a range of Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) applications. These cables can be installed along pipelines, power lines, roadways, railroad tracks, and property boundaries. They support distributed temperature sensing (DTS), distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), and distributed strain sensing (DSS).
The OptiStrain™ modules from Prysmian are specifically designed for strain and acoustic sensing, while loose-tube fibers are utilized for temperature sensing. By incorporating multiple sensing functions for asset monitoring, the likelihood of false positives is significantly reduced, enhancing the overall performance and benefits of the sensing system. Additionally, extra loose tube optical fibers can be added for telecommunications and data applications.
