GenSPEED® 10 MTP™ Gen 5 Category 6A Cable

The variable laser-cut pattern provides maximum protection against EMI. A smaller cable diameter allows for greater cable density, reducing cable management costs. Simplified design and improved bend radius make it easier to strip, terminate, and route, reducing installation time and expense. 

This plenum-rated Category 6A cable combines 23 AWG solid copper conductors, fluoropolymer insulation, and a low-smoke, flame-retardant PVC jacket to deliver reliable 10GBASE‑T performance in high-density environments. The Mosaic™ variable laser-cut tape enhances alien crosstalk performance while supporting demanding PoE and HDBaseT applications across elevated operating temperatures.

What is Alien Crosstalk, and why is it important for Cat6A cables? 

Alien crosstalk refers to unwanted signal interference from neighboring cables that introduces noise into 10GBASE‑T networks. Although Cat6A cabling is engineered to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet, high‑frequency and high‑density installations—especially where cables are tightly bundled—can increase susceptibility to interference from adjacent channels. If not properly controlled, this interference can degrade performance, potentially reducing network throughput and overall stability. Shielded cable constructions are commonly used to mitigate alien crosstalk. Still, they often entail trade-offs, including more restrictive bend-radius requirements and higher labor and project costs during termination and installation. GenSPEED 10 MTP delivers superior alien crosstalk performance, providing more than +8 dB of headroom over the standard without requiring shielding.
