MassLink™ Multi-Tube Ribbon Cable
Prysmian's MassLink™ Multi-Tube Flat Ribbon Loose Tube Cable is an excellent solution, offering a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-handle ribbon cable design. Prysmian has recently re-engineered the cable for fiber counts ranging from 288 to 360 fibers, using a 5-at-1 core configuration. This design reduces the outer diameter (OD), enabling higher-density ribbon cables to fit into smaller pathways.
The MassLink cable features a dry core with a protective gel-filled buffer tube, ensuring that the ribbons are well-coupled and insulated during installation. The buffer tubes are stranded and use reverse-oscillating technology, reducing field preparation time and simplifying buffer-tube management, particularly in midspan access situations. Additionally, each buffer tube functions as either a furcation tube or a transport tube for splice closures or housing preparations.
The MassLink cable can be ordered with either standard single-mode fibers or bend-insensitive single-mode fibers. Each ribbon has an easily removable matrix, enabling quick, straightforward preparation for fusion splicing.
