ALL-TEMP INDUSTRITE® Magnet Cable
ALL-TEMP INDUSTRITE® Magnet Crane Cable is specifically designed and manufactured to endure the harsh conditions commonly found in magnet crane operations. This cable offers superior resistance to cutting, puncturing, tearing, abrasion, and impact compared to standard Type W cables, thanks to its rugged design and material selection.
ALL-TEMP INDUSTRITE Magnet Crane Cables are ideal for use in environments such as scrap yards, foundries, and other facilities where there is a significant risk of metal penetration.
Construction Options
Please consult with us, as the cables are designed and manufactured in various constructions for specific applications.
Available options include:
- Overall shields and armor
- Composite conductors
Note: To extend cable life in all working applications, use basket-weave grips at least 12 inches long.
Design Parameters
Conductors: The conductors consist of extra-flexible rope stranding (Class K) made from soft-drawn, uncoated copper. They meet the standards of ASTM B-3, ASTM B-172, and UL-62, ensuring high flexibility, an extended flex life, and reduced risks of copper fatigue and conductor breakage.
Separator: A paper separator facilitates easy conductor stripping.
Insulation: The conductors are insulated with color-coded thermoset (EPDM) insulation, compliant with UL-62 and ANSI/NEMA WC58, as well as ICEA S-75-381. This insulation offers excellent physical and electrical properties, allowing for easy identification of conductors. It does not melt or deform during emergency overloads or short circuit conditions.
Cabling: The conductors are cabled together with non-wicking, hygroscopic fillers. This enhances impact resistance and ensures exceptional performance even under severe flexing.
Jacket: The cable features a double-layer aramid fiber-reinforced thermoset jacket that complies with UL-62, ANSI/NEMA WC58, and ICEA S-75-381. This design prevents conductor displacement during flexing operations, provides good visibility for safety, and maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 105°C. The Kevlar reinforcement significantly improves the cable's strength, cut-through resistance, and abrasion resistance.
