Lead the industry evolution, combining our ability to develop our people and business in a clear direction, while proactively anticipating and meeting customer needs, ensuring a confident and reassured customer base.
SIMPLICITY
Our commitment to simplicity drives us to streamline operations, concentrating on high-value activities and making timely decisions to enhance company performance.
Ethics as a Priority
At Prysmian, we believe that sustainable value creation is impossible without respecting both rules and competitors. Feedback from our stakeholders indicates that business ethics and integrity significantly impact our company’s value and success. Therefore, Prysmian is committed to a management model that adheres to the highest standards of ethics and integrity, complying with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures aimed at preventing corruption and anti-competitive practices.
Being smart about compliance goes beyond merely ticking boxes. Fostering ethical behavior contributes to community development, which is a core component of our Sustainability Strategy. Cultivating a strong ethics culture enhances our reputation, helps us stay ahead of our competitors, and allows us to be more agile in adapting to new regulatory changes. For this reason, we have established a Code of Ethics that must be adhered to by our entire value chain. The principles outlined in our Code of Ethics apply to all business transactions and daily activities involving our employees, suppliers, business partners, sales agents, subcontractors, and distributors.
Our Charter
The company's Mission and Vision are aligned with the Code of Ethics, which establishes the principles that everyone associated with Prysmian must uphold. By outlining clear guidelines for everyday conduct, the Code of Ethics plays a strategic role by emphasizing each individual's significant contribution to our mission and vision.
The Code of Ethics is more than just a set of rules; it serves as a foundation for building and maintaining the long-term trust of our clients, investors, and stakeholders. It fosters trust—a core value at Prysmian—thereby protecting the company's value over time. This fosters a positive image in the broader community, facilitates long-lasting partnerships, and helps prevent costly fines and lawsuits.
Prysmian continually strengthens relationships with strategic suppliers by aiming to establish an organizational process centered on sustainability throughout the production chain.
To enhance the sustainability of our supply chain, we follow three main steps. Suppliers of recurring and strategic materials or services must:
- Subscribe to the Code of Ethics and acknowledge the Code of Business Conduct and other ethical standards.
- Complete a sustainability assessment through a self-assessment and due diligence process.
- Implement actions aimed at constantly improving the sustainability of the overall supply chain.
Our Improvements Programs
Prysmian is committed to maintaining a sustainable supply chain, which has led to the implementation of various improvement programs to enhance awareness and attention to detail throughout the entire process, from raw material sourcing to final delivery to customers. We recognize the importance of addressing multiple social, ethical, and environmental impacts. The most significant environmental impact stems from the production cycle of base metals sourced from our suppliers, which includes everything from extraction to rod production.
As part of our vendor management strategy, Prysmian maps and classifies rod suppliers based on their sustainability commitment, prioritizing those with the highest sustainability ratings. To enhance the efficiency of our materials supply chain, we have developed an algorithm that optimizes the allocation of requirements among our diverse suppliers. This approach helps minimize the transportation of materials and reduces related emissions.
In addition, Prysmian has implemented several measures to monitor and decrease CO2 emissions resulting from product distribution. These measures include:
- Preferring providers with a local presence.
- Optimizing transportation methods for goods by air and sea.
- Selecting road haulers that implement sustainable practices
