Our IEEE 1580 Type P cables are designed to preserve the operational integrity of mission-critical equipment in the most severe environments of upstream offshore and onshore oil and gas drilling rigs, production platforms, MODUs and FPSOs. Engineered with mud oil resistance for increased safety and productivity, our IEEE 1580 Type P offering includes flexible unarmored and armored and sheathed signal, control, low-voltage and AC variable frequency drive (VFD) cables.

Marine MV cables are ideally suited for increasing power distribution requirements in offshore drilling rigs, production platforms and FPSOs. Prysmian offers a complete line of medium-voltage (5-15KV) single and multiconductor EPR insulated Marine MV cables engineered to meet the performance criteria of IEEE 1580 Type E. These cables are available in flexible stranded, braided armored and unarmored constructions, as well as low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) designs. Armored and sheathed cables are suitable for Class 1, Division 1 applications offshore.

Prysmian’s AIRGUARD® marine-rated polymeric armored cable completely eliminates the need for outdated interlocked and continuously corrugated and welded (CCW) cables. Its rugged polymeric AIR BAG™ armor and chemical barrier protection package makes it the ideal cable choice for harsh environmental and installation conditions. AIRGUARD is available in medium voltage, low voltage, instrumentation and VFD cable constructions. It is TC-ER-HL-rated for Class Division 1 and Zone 1 applications.

Fiber optic cables are used to provide high bandwidth and high-speed data connections in land and offshore safety communication and emergency systems. It is essential that they continue to operate in fire/emergency situations. Prysmian offers low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) fiber optic cables designed especially for the harsh environments encountered on marine vessels, oil platforms, drilling rigs and other similar applications.
