Marine medium-voltage (MV) cables are specifically designed to meet the increasing power distribution needs of offshore drilling rigs, production platforms, and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. Prysmian offers a comprehensive range of medium-voltage cables (5-15 kV) that feature single and multi-conductor EPR insulation, all engineered to comply with the performance standards of IEEE 1580 Type E. These cables come in various constructions, including flexible stranded, armored, and unarmored options, along with low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) designs. Additionally, armored and sheathed cables are suitable for Class 1 Division 1 applications in offshore environments.

Prysmian’s AIRGUARD® marine-rated polymeric armored cable is a reliable solution, eliminating the need for outdated interlocked and CCW® cables. Its rugged polymeric AIR BAG™ armor and chemical barrier protection package ensure its performance in harsh environmental and installation conditions. AIRGUARD® is available in medium-voltage, low-voltage, instrumentation and VFD cable constructions. It is TC-ER-HL-rated for Class Division 1 and Zone 1 applications.
