It’s a reduced size all-dielectric or toneable flat drop fiber optic cable featuring a compact, durable design for aerial, duct, and direct burial installations.

What does “dielectric” mean in this cable? 

“Dielectric” means the cable is non-metallic and does not require grounding, offering improved safety and flexibility in aerial and buried environments. The Mini-Flat version with a tone wire is thus not dielectric, and is designed for fast and easy locating. The tone wire must be properly bonded to ensure safe connections at the home. 

What fiber counts are available for this cable? 

The ResiLink™ Mini-Flat Drop Cable is available in single-fiber configurations with a 900µm tight-buffered design, ideal for FTTH applications.

Where is the Mini-Flat Drop Cable typically used? 

It’s commonly used in broadband, FTTH, and access networks where a small, flexible, and robust drop solution is needed for self-supporting or direct burial installations. The 900µm tight-buffer fiber allows for rapid field terminations inside enclosures and Network Interface Devices NIDs. It is compatible with all mechanical no epoxy/no polish field installable and splice-on connectors. For the most robust connector installations used in service drop terminals, Prysmian’s ResiLink™ Universal Service Drop offers an embedded interconnect fiber with aramid for crimping connectors. 

Mini-Flat is also available with our ezDROP Preconnectorized Fiber Drop Cable assemblies featuring the industry standard HFOC (Optitap® Compatible) connector or SC/APC connectors.
