Prysmian's versatile AIRGUARD® cable systems are designed to support various applications across industries. From offshore oil and gas drilling to food and beverage, these cable solutions offer three to five times more mechanical protection than metal-armored cables, even in harsh environments. 

 

AIRGUARD's innovative polymeric-armored cable technology eliminates the need for outdated options such as interlocked, continuously corrugated, and welded cables (CCW). Now available in high-voltage, medium-voltage, low-voltage, instrumentation, and fiber-optic cable constructions, these systems offer a superior alternative. 

 

The combination of AIRGUARD® cable and Prysmian's extensive offering of terminations, splices, cable glands and tools provides a comprehensive turnkey system. AIRGUARD® Low Voltage Power Cables are primarily designed for applications and environments found in heavy industrial, VFD applications and offshore markets. The rugged polymeric AIR BAG™ armor's exceptional durability and the chemical barrier protection package make it the ideal cable choice for demanding, harsh environmental conditions. Its durability is a testament to its quality and is rated for Class I Div. I locations. 

 

Low Voltage AIRGUARD® has been designed to reduce installation costs in the field while improving overall cable performance compared to Type MC and MC-HL alternatives. The proven flexibility and scriptability of low voltage AIRGUARD instill confidence, as it has consistently demonstrated its ability to save as much as 18% in the installation cost over MC-HL.

AIRGUARD® cables are a viable alternative to continuously corrugated and welded aluminum armored cables (CCW). They offer five times better impact performance, three times the sidewall bearing pressure limit, and a crush strength of 2500 psi MV. These features provide security and confidence in your choice of cable. 

 

AIRGUARD® cables can be produced in lengths that are more than twice as long as CCW cables and can be installed without splices. Additionally, their excellent chemical resistance allows for installation in direct burial applications, offering versatility and flexibility in project planning. Compared to traditional tray, conduit, and duct system installations, this can save time and money.
