In this episode of The Reel Advantage, Anna Wright, VP of Marketing and Communications, and Jon Compher, National Account Manager – I&C, sat down with Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian North America, to chat about 2025 and what's ahead for the company.

For 37 years, Pirondini has been a part of Prysmian, working across business segments and across the globe. In 2021, he began his tenure in North America, most recently helping lead Prysmian North America through the acquisitions of Encore Wire and Channell

But Pirondini isn't done; more projects and ideas are on the horizon to match the growing momentum in the North American market.

2025 marked Prysmian's best year yet, with global revenues exceeding €19 billion. North America’s revenues exceeded $9 billion, accounting for 40% of the company’s total sales. Over the past two years, Prysmian’s North American footprint has grown exponentially through the acquisitions of Encore Wire and Channell, adding over 3,000 employees and expanding its product portfolio. As Prysmian continues its evolution from a cable manufacturer to a solutions provider, these partnerships unlock major energy priorities, including data centers, industry, and the strengthening of the U.S. power grid.

In 2025, Prysmian also claimed the title of largest cable manufacturer in North America.

"It's great to be the biggest, but that's not what we're aiming for: we're aiming to excel," said Pirondini. "The focus is to deliver the best possible performance. It's all about innovation, understanding what we can do for customers, how we can work better, and how we can work with our team."

Prysmian remains committed to delivering outstanding customer service in 2026 and beyond. Pirondini states that the company is entering a strong year across three key businesses: construction, power distribution, and digital solutions

Construction

At the center of Prysmian’s Industrial and Construction business is the Prysmian | Encore Wire partnership, which combines the companies’ product portfolios and a customer-centric culture to ensure Prysmian can deliver superior products and services to the construction industry.

In 2024, Prysmian announced a $500M investment in the Encore Wire McKinney campus, centered on a state-of-the-art medium voltage cable production facility totaling more than 650,000 square feet. Expected to be online in 2027, the plant will significantly increase Prysmian’s medium voltage capacity and create 120 new jobs.

The company also recently completed a new 340,800-square-foot Copper Building Wire Plant and expanded the Encore Wire Service Center to further enhance the company’s ability to deliver high-quality products with speed, precision, and efficiency.

Power Distribution

The North American market continues to expand across sectors: power consumption from data centers will jump 175% by 2030 (from 2023 levels), and U.S. electricity demand is expected to grow by 55% by 2050, which is up from 48% from NEMA’s previous projection, largely because of demand for artificial intelligence training, positioning Prysmian as a company poised to meet the cabling and solution demand that comes alongside these increases.

Cable solutions build the backbone of advanced power grids, propelling grid resilience. Prysmian stands out with unmatched manufacturing and installation capabilities, coupled with our firm commitment to research and development. The company specializes in designing, producing, and installing high-, medium-, and low-voltage underground cable systems, and provides network components, value-added engineering, and asset monitoring solutions and services

Digital Solutions

With data centers at the forefront of the telecom conversation, the construction and execution of data centers across the U.S. mark an exciting aspect of Prysmian’s North American business.

“When you look at it now, data centers are not a bubble. There is a lot of money that's going into the construction of data centers that need to be powered up,” said Pirondini. “We have it all. We have the full range of accessories and solutions to do this.”

Prysmian recently announced $1 billion in capital investments to meet the growing demand for fiber across the U.S.

Ultimately, Pirondini believes that momentum across the board continues to make Prysmian a company to watch, not only here in North America, but globally.

“Our strength as a company doesn’t just depend on trends; we have many streams of innovation that make Prysmian such an exciting company to be a part of,” said Pirondini.
